Maceration

Lomee taught me how this summer and I love it. I remember my Mom used to do it when I was little but I never knew what it was or how until now.

I had fresh macerated strawberries with cream for breakfast and we macerated peaches a few weeks ago. Berries are great for this, too. With all the farmer’s markets and roadside produce stands around here, we find all sorts of goodies.

Just cut them up and sprinkle sugar over them. Give them a quick stir and let sit for a few hours or days. If desired, drizzle heavy cream on and enjoy!
